In one message, I tell him explicitly he should “go back to [his] wife.” He responds by saying that only makes him want to pursue me more. This proved to be an ongoing pattern with John.

February 2012 – Receipt for a Phoenix motel I insisted in staying in because I learned at the January conference in Texas that John would break his promises and sneak into my bedroom during the middle of the night if I stayed in a host’s home where he was also sleeping. I stayed in that hotel one night and then, because the hotel was so bad, with a host family where John was not staying the second night.

Note: The above document was sent AFTER the text messages Mormonism Live purported to be evidence that John had repeatedly rejected my advances. In the above email, John writes, “and just yesterday we began faux sexting???” referring to an interaction he claims occurred between us on August 9. This is proof that John selectively edited the messages he recently released in order to support a false narrative that he was continually rebuffing my advances. It is clear by that point John was trying to gather dirt on me to use in his defense. I explain the reason behind those text messages in my forensic interview here.

September 9, 2012 – My decision to rescind my right to an investigation. At the time what I wanted was for the board to protect me from John and to allow me to continue doing my work. I was very sensitive and raw at the time and did not want to get into details about the sexual harassment. All I wanted was for John to calm down so I could move on and continue building the organization and doing the work I loved.

September 17, 2012 – Email of my resignation. I received a phone call from Natasha and another board member again asking me to resign. At that point, I gave up. I had received no help, it was clear they were protecting John at all costs and I realized that no help was going to be available to me.

October 16, 2012 – Natasha’s email to me at the time of the rest of the board’s resignation. I had just reached out to the board in hopes of getting some help ending John’s retaliatory bannings. Instead, the board unanimously voted John back on the board, then all but Natasha resigned. She then used this letter as an attempt to establish a record of what the board had supposedly done to resolve the problem when in fact the problem was not resolved, I was still being retaliated against by John, and I had been pressured to resign a second time.

October 17, 2012 – My letter in response to John’s “two options” email (above, on Oct. 15) after I had apologized for my role in the what at the time I called an “affair.” (I have not considered my experiences with John to be an “affair” since I recovered from his manipulations.) I was attempting to be tongue-in-cheek. John extracted and then released this email on Mormonism Live and framed it as a “blackmail” email while leaving out that this was part of a larger conversation. When read in context of the above email, it’s clearly facetious.

January 2013 – Transcript excerpts from John’s supposed “Faith Reconstruction” podcast. John fabricated stories of people having sexual encounters at conferences as an excuse for shutting them down, when he was the one having sexual encounters at conferences. The episode was riddled with hypocrisy and the smoothing over of his narrative so he could avoid a “dishonorable” excommunication.’

February 2013 – My appeal to Harvard to drop classes without financial or academic penalty due to my deteriorating mental health caused by John’s highly public and continued re-writing of history which was affecting my reputation.

March 2013 – My initial charge with the Human Rights Commission of New Hampshire. After the John’s “Faith Reconstruction” podcast, I began to feel suicidal. It was very frightening. I had no idea how powerful suicidal ideation can be until I experienced John making insinuations about our sexual relationship in a podcast to hundreds of thousands of people. I decided to get an attorney, and as soon as I got the attorney I felt better.

May 1, 2013 – John’s response to the Human Rights Commission regarding my initial gentle charge. John had hired a Utah attorney to help him with a New Hampshire matter. Instead of mailing this response directly to the HRC as the HRC had requested, John’s attorney emailed it to my attorney and asked me to settle. My attorney’s interpretation of John’s attorney’s decision was that John’s attorney didn’t know that sexual harassment charges in New Hampshire are kept private and my attorney assumed that John’s attorney believed the charge would become public if it were sent to the HRC. My attorney told me that his interpretation of John’s response was that it was very lacking and was only an attempt to humiliate me on the public record. My attorney advised me to not give in to John’s intimidation strategies, simply refuse to settle, and invite John to file his response with the HRC.

September 2014 – Document I filed with the Human Rights Commission of New Hampshire when I realized that I wouldn’t be able to get an investigation because John did not pay one of his employees enough to get a 1099. I knew that if I continued to ask for an “investigation” I would lose the investigation based solely on the number of employees. I knew that if I simply withdrew my charge, John would claim I withdrew my charge because it was false. My solution was to refuse to settle and sign an NDA, file this document, withdraw my charge then move to the Mormon Discussions message board to show John that I would not be intimidated into silence and to begin keeping a public dated record of what had occurred.

March 2018 – New Sexual Harassment policy established by the Open Stories Foundation and promoted by John Dehlin. It outlined that John’s behavior toward me, a subordinate, would have been considered sexual harassment at the time if OSF had implemented this policy from the outset.

This is the same behavior he exhibited with my Facebook photos after we first met – liking multiple photos all at once (although I have never posted “sexy photos” or pictures of myself in swimwear on social media).
